Cotton Mill Girl Sings

Gracie Fields was a British singer, comedian who became a big star of both cinema and Music Hall.
 
Born over a Fish and Chip shop in Rochdale,Lancashire.

Gracie started her working life in the local cotton mill of Rochdale. She gained a following with her self deprecating jokes and comic songs.

She had a no airs and graces working class style which made her the darling of the working class during the Depression years in England.

Gracie became one of Britain's highest paid performers of the 1930's.

Gracie also stared in the hit movie "Molly and Me" (1945)
