Free BMD Records Northern Ireland

One of the most searched Keywords on my site has been for Free BMD Records for Northern Ireland. At the moment there is not a site out there offering all of these records . These are my favourite sites that offer some information but not all.

Emerald Ancestors offer a free search but to get the most from this site you have to pay for membership. At 10 pounds for one month this is really good value i have found it to have been the best site in finding results. If you have friends who are also researching Northern Ireland, then take it in turns for membership doing look ups for each other.

  13. Would someone please, please help me find the birth/family of Abraham Little born circ 1835 County Omagh Ireland.
Abraham's father ( according to his marriage certificate) was William Little who was a carpenter and Smith

    ReplyDelete
  14. Sorry, the birth date of Abraham was circ 1865.

I hope someone will be so kind as to help me find his birth/family.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Is this your Abraham Little,
Born 1863, Omagh, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. Died 1936 Middlesex, England .This Abraham was also married twice,i have this information if needed.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Yes, this is the same Abraham, I already had this information, sorry I should have posted it with my message yesterday.

I would love to know more about Abraham's Irish side of the Family as I know nothing about it, they were never discussed.
ie, what was his Mothers name, did he have any siblings?

According to the marriage certificate,Abraham's Father William, was deceased by the time he married for the second time in Hendon, Middlesex in 1914.

Thankyou for your help, I am very grateful.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I can only find what you have already on Abraham. I found him in the english census of 1891 but he was a boarder so no family there with him. I also found his marriage record in 1891 to Emma Starling.
I would surgest that you keep looking on as many sites for Tyrone as you can. You may just find his fathers marriage record this way. He would have had at least a few brothers and sisters. There would have been a William at least after his Father. He may have been named after his Mothers Father

    Good Luck!

  18. Thankyou Your Ancestors Free.Com.

I took your advice and looked at as many Tyrone sites that I could find.

I've found a marriage on 2nd Feb 1847 for an Abraham Little to Sarah Anderson in the Parish of Derryloran, Cookstown ,County Tyrone.

As Abraham Little is not a common name, do you think that this could be My Abraham's Grandfather? or am I on the wrong track.
I really don't know where to go from here.

    Once again Thankyou

    ReplyDelete
  19. I have found that record and it maybe his Grandfather but it could also be his father's Uncle. You have not been very clear what townland they came from so apart from County Tyrone, that was the only place i had to go from. Emerald Ancestors have records of a couple of Williams who could be the Grandfather. You can look at the records free as long as you join the site . This is free,if you want to view the full records i think its about 10 pounds. Its well worth it ,i have used them a few times. Also good for doing look ups for friends. You are on the right track. Sometimes you never know for sure ,just gather as much information as you can from different sources and then you may be able to call it. Let me know how you go on.

  20. Thankyou once again for your help.

Abraham first appears in England on the 1891 census living in Harrow Middlesex, at this time he was single, aged 27, Journey Tailor, place of birth Tyrone,Ireland.
First Marriage certificate in August 1901,Marylebone, London, to Emma Starling gives Fathers name as William Little, deceased,Carpenter.

Neither of the marriage certificates or census returns give the Township he came from.
1911 census gives place of birth as Omagh, County Tyrone.

I joined Emerald Ancestors as a full member a week ago, but I still haven't found anything apart from the one marriage in 1847 which I told you about in the above message.

Boo hoo, I'm tearing my hair out.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Welcome to the Brickwall!
Stop tearing your hair out. If you have Emerald Ancestors then start looking. Think outside the square, look for a pattern that could be brothers or sisters to Abraham, look for possible Williams. If you can not find a match then record the ones that could be a could be. Look for information else where.
Talk to older relatives it could be very helpfull. You may not find the right person now but you will sometime down the track.

  22. Where do I go now? I am looking for the marriage of William McKinstry of Greencastle, who died 14th April 1894, aged 80 years and his wife Emily Millken who died 6th October 1898, aged 87 (.http://www.historyfromheadstones.com/index.php?id=522&page=3 96&prevStartQuery=1975&theme=Infant&Send=Sen d ) Their first child was born in 1838-so I guess the marriage was a year or so before that date. Is that enough information to get a marriage certificate so I can see who their parents are?
